- The Empower You Fuel Poverty project supports the community to take better control of energy use and save money. In partnership with the Bromley by Bow Centre, the Aberfeldy Centre encourages local people to attend workshops to learn ways to save energy and get tips and tricks on how to save on bills such as changing tariffs and finding discounts. A workshop was designed for ESOL students to enhance their learning as part of enrichment opportunities.
“Volunteering at the community garden has silenced the noise inside my head and slowed down my pace, helping me regain mental stability and clarity and ground myself literally with what’s most important. In hard times like now, volunteering feeds and nourishes the soul, keeps us surviving and looking forward with hope”.
